Do you want to take part in a creative process between art and science?
Have you heard of the survival of the fittest?
Of evolutionary life?
Of “natural selection”?
Are you interested in anticipating society’s future?
Would you like to face scientific challenges?
Survival vs Resilience is a new workshop that will take place at the Foundation’s headquarters in Badalona. The project is in collaboration with research groups from the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology, HLRS and IDIBELL, among others.
In addition to the researchers, 30 people will be able to participate in the workshop: artists, scientists and technologists, especially those with multidisciplinary and hybrid profiles who want to be part of a disruptive and innovative experience.
Adaptation, endurance, improvement, eugenics, disease, failure, downfall, poverty. Ultimately, Survival vs Resilience is the fundamental concept of the workshop which will culminate in a final performance based on scientific experiments and challenges created by the invited researchers.
More than being a space for a cocreation regarding performing arts, this workshop is a laboratory. Invited experts and scientists will develop their studies and research during both the public presentation and the creative process. When participating, you will become part of an experiment. We will extract and study data about the immediate response, group collaboration, leadership, active participation, excellence, innovation, effort, etc.
It will be two intensive weeks in which, together with Épica, actions and proposals will be developed in order to design a performance that meets all the scientific challenges. The main objective is to prove the role of art in R&D&I processes, together with science and technology.
